Journalistic and Ethical Standards

At Lincoln Media Foundation, we believe that trust is the foundation of good journalism.

Our audience deserves reporting that is accurate, transparent, and fair – no matter what.

That is why we were formed in the first place, to provide readers with the truth and objectivity that mainstream media refuses to deliver.

To earn and keep that trust, we hold ourselves to the highest standards and ensure every member of our team is regularly trained in ethical, best-in-class journalism.

Our core principles are non-negotiable:  We publish only what we can verify.

We prioritize sources with direct knowledge. We use confidential sources only when absolutely necessary and only when the public interest clearly justifies it. We demand transparency from those in power; we owe our readers no less.

We respect privacy. Sensational or intrusive personal details have no place in our work unless they are directly relevant to the story. Private and family matters will always be handled with discretion and good taste.

We do not break the law to get a story. Our job is to expose wrongdoing, not commit it. Illegally obtaining information is never justified.

We take every complaint seriously. If someone believes we’ve been inaccurate or unfair, we listen. Complaints about our reporting should be sent to info@lincolnmediafoundation.org. When we get it wrong, we correct it promptly and prominently—serious errors will be acknowledged at the top of the article.

These standards aren’t just guidelines; they’re the reason our readers trust us. We don’t take that trust lightly.
